Railway Link : Halisahar Railway Station is in between Naihati Junction Station in south and Kanchrapara Station in north. Halisahar is connected by Local Train communication from Sealdah, Kolkata. The Gede Local, Krishnanagar Local, Shantipur Local, Ranaghat Local and Kalyani Simanta Local from and to Sealdah stop at Halisahar Rail Station. It takes slightly above an hour from Sealdah to reach Halisahar.

Roadway Link : There are two roadway connectivity broadly speaking from Kolkata in the south to reach Halisahar in the north around 50 Km away. One is the Ghoshpara Road (G.P. Road) which is the main arterial road through numerous busy city and town areas. It joins Halisahar with Barrackpore in the south and Kanchrapara in the north running all-through close to the river Ganga-Hooghly. Bus route No. 85 is the main option (in form of public transport) for commuters using this link. The other one, the Kalyani Express way (via Belghoria-Sodepur-Barrackpore upto Kalyani) passes some distance away from the eastern side of the Halisahar Railway station. Auto service is there on this highway from Barrackpore upto Naihati crossing apart from local bus service of Bus route No. DN-5. Commuters getting down at the Halisahar crossing on this way get van-rickshaw and auto-rickshaw services further to reach Halisahar rail station around 3 Km away. From Halisahar Railway station to the western side of Halisahar city upto the G.P. Road, the Halisahar Station Road (Col. KP Gupta Road) is plied by auto-rickshaws and van-rickshaws from the station to Bagmore.

Waterway Link :
There are motor launches and motor-run country boats plying between Naihati-Halisahar in the eastern side of the river Ganga-Hooghly and Chinsurah-Chandernagore in the western side. Commuters from Chinsurah or Chandernagore on the waterway use the Naihati Ghat for motor launch service. Commuters from Hooghly use IPP Ghat (Near India Pulp & Paper Mill / Naihati Jute Mill) and Dunlop Ghat (Near Halisahar Municipal office / Ramprasad Vita) for motor run country boat services.
